Original WWI Italian Brass Hilt Vetterli M1870/87/15 Rifle Carcano Blade Ersatz Bayonet with Scabbard Availability_Both It was Dickerson's 25th missionOriginal Item: Only One Available. We have only ever had one of these before, and that was years ago. These are very unusual and consequently quite rare. Produced during WWI, these took a standard M 1891 Carcano Rifle Bayonet blade and mounted it into an all brass hilt in the form of the earlier Vetterli Bayonet Hilt. This allowed it to be fitted to the converted Vetterli M1870 87 15 Rifles in 6. 5mm Carcano for rear line use. Ersatz bayonets are
