Hay of Hackensack, New Jersey was born March 9th, 1887. He served on the 7th Infantry of the New York National Guard and enlisted for service to fight in World War One on June 5th, 1917. He was a member of the Machine Gun Company under the command of Lieutenant Kenneth Gardner whose headquarters were located on Park Avenue and 66th St, New York, New York, not a bad address!
