Crinum herbertii Schreck Cuphea black-green borderWe love this Crinum x herbertii (Crinum bulbispermum x Crinum scabrum) that comes from the Schreck family of Vidor, Texas no relation to the famed Shrek family of Hollywood, California. Texas plantswoman Marcelle Sheppard recognized its value, subsequently naming and distributing it. For us, the 30" tall stalks emerge starting in late May and continue through mid summer, each topped by heads of 10 13 outfacing, tubular flowers of white highlighted by
