Description

Being from the dry Sonoran Desert region

is a Hosta sieboldiana mutation with giant

It could also be cut back hard if it is necessary to restrict its size

so we are delighted when we find a particularly showy form

In late summer (August in NC)

Hymenocallis durangoensis Agastache Being from the dry SonoranHymenocallis durangoensis is another of the wonderful garden worthy North American native spider lilies, that are sadly, rarely grown. Hymenocallis durangoensis hails from Durango, Mexico, where it forms 2' tall clumps of narrow, very upright, glossy green leaves. The clumps are adorned with spikes of fragrant, white, star shaped flowers that emerge for us around early June. Full to part sun and moist soils are best.
