This started life as a French Mle 1842 Line Musket or even possibly a Percussion Rifle. However when it was obsoleted it was sold to be converted into a Single Barrel Percussion Shotgun for sporting use. The shotgun is actually quite nice, with a very attractive figured stock, probably French walnut.
