Dryad oil hag and conversationDryads are mythological spirits of trees in Greek legend and lore. Originally they were only associated with Oak trees ("drys" in Greek) but eventually was applied to any tree species. Mostly inhabiting sacred groves of the Gods, a Dryad was often depicted as a beautiful nymph in artworks. They were very elusive except with their main Goddess, Artemis. There is a tradition of knocking on a branch before wood is harvested, to warn the Dryad to vacate
