S. Naval Aviation during the war. The flat hat has a diameter of 12 and shows very heavy sunfading which means that this hat saw great wartime use. The interior of the hat shows heavy sweatstaining along with an inscribed name: McCormick L. E. Over this name marking is the same name stenciled in white paint, MCCORMICK, L. E.
