the central leaf color morphs into an unusual central pattern of ghostly white frosting that fades only slightly in late summer

The clumps are also adorned in early winter with attractive stalks of red fruit

We have planted two masses of these in our new border to the tune of oohs and aahs

Zephyranthes stellatorosea Englerarum 000') Asian native groundcover/vineThis is the first commercial offering of the 2015 published rain lily, Zephyranthes stellatorosea, discovered in 1961, in both Puebla and Hidalgo, Mexico. For us, it's one of the earliest flowering species we've grown, starting usually in early April. It resembles the pink flowered Zephyranthes macrosiphon, except for the prominent white throat. For us, it grows to 10" tall. Our plants are propagated from the original Walter Flory Ray Flagg collection.
