Spain, Fascist State. A Military Medal, Type II (1938-1970), C.1936 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac with minor loss of finish(Medalla Militar). Instituted in 1918. In silver, unmarked, type II with eagle coat of arms on the reverse, measuring 43. 2 mm (w) x 41. 5 mm (h), original ribbon, suspended from a traditional horizontal hanger with pinback, surface wear evident on the lions, very light contact overall, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Military Medal is a high military award of Spain, to recognize battlefield bravery. The medal was established on June 29, 1918 by
