Camouflage paint was not formally introduced until July 1918

These were found in Germany about 12 years ago in an old furniture factory

When the olive drab #7 color was adopted

Note: Although the replacement stocks are pre-shaped to accommodate most of the original parts

This is exactly the same lock adopted by the British Board of Ordnance for the Third Model Brown Bess
